Asia Pacific Alliance for Obesity and Sarcopenia Metabolism Inauguration Ceremony and the 1st Scientific Meeting (APAOSM 2023)

On June 30, 2023, the Asia Pacific Alliance for Obesity and Sarcopenia Metabolism (APAOSM) Inauguration Ceremony and the 1st APAOSM Scientific Meeting were held in Shenzhen, China. The event was hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at The University of Hong Kong, and co-organized by Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University and Peking University Shenzhen Hospital.

The meeting brought together nearly 500 participants, including medical experts and members of the public from various sectors across Mainland China, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), and Taiwan (China), as well as Australia, Singapore, and other regions.

APAOSM was established with the mission to advance research, education, training, and public awareness in the fields of obesity and sarcopenia in the Asia-Pacific region. The alliance aims to foster industry-academia collaboration, develop disciplinary training and certification systems, and promote standardization and innovation in these critical health areas.
